I'm proud to supporting Safer Gambling Week 2024.
Having previously served as Sports & Gambling Minister, I know how vital it is to promote safer betting tools and resources. A campaign that's now in its eight year, has helped to start a national conservation about safer betting and gaming, which I strongly command and support.
As in previous years, Safer Gambling Week 2024 is led by leading trade associations - the Betting and Gaming Council, the Bingo Association and BACTA.
The goal is to trigger a national conversation about safer gambling, highlighting the tools, advice and help available to customers and the initiatives being taken by operators to promote social responsibility throughout the year.
The key messages for SG Week 24 are:
· It’s good to set yourself limits by deciding how long you want to play for and sticking to it. Have you set yours yet?
· It’s good to take a break. Step away and pause before you play. Take time to think.
· Friends and family are more important than gambling. Don’t let gambling interfere with your personal relationships.
