On May 8, 1945, at 3 pm, Prime Minister Winston Churchill declared the end of the Second World War in Europe. 
80 years later, we come together to honour and remember the countless British, Commonwealth, and Allied servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we hold dear today.
We must never forget their service and the service of all those who have come since.
