It is deeply regrettable that there will be new national restrictions are now in effect until Wednesday 2 December.
I do understand how much is being asked of my constituents at this time. You have all endured so much this year already and followed the rules with such care. I am truly sorry that these efforts have not yet been enough to overcome this virus, and that it is once again necessary to have to ask even more of you.
We must once again stay at home, except for specific purposes. These purposes include; for childcare or education, to go to work where you cannot work from home, to exercise outdoors or visit a public place, for medical purposes, to avoid injury or harm or to shop for basic necessities.
Support bubbles and childcare bubbles can continue. Otherwise, we are only able to meet one other person from another household at any time. This must be both outside and in a public place to minimise the risk of transmitting the virus as much as possible.
A number of businesses will also be required to temporarily close until 2 December. This includes all non-essential retail, indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, entertainment facilities and personal care facilities. Hospitality venues such as restaurants, bars and pubs must also close, but can still provide takeaway and delivery services.
All non-essential travel must also be avoided, and overnight stays away from primary residences are not permitted. This includes any holidays within the United Kingdom or abroad.
There is further information in the guidance, which can be found here:
