Stuart was pleased to join hundreds of members of the community in the constituency in the annual push to raise money for BBC’s Children in Need. All money raised goes towards the cause of helping to change children’s lives all across the UK for the better.
Stuart visited the Leisure Centre in Pudsey where volunteers and visitors were counting 2ps as part of their 2p challenge in aid of Children in Need. The challenge is to fill a coin mosaic of Pudsey Bear on the floor of the Pudsey Leisure Centre with 2ps, and reinforce the strong support that Pudsey shows for the appeal each year. Volunteers were joined by Pudsey Bear himself as well as helpers from all over the constituency who were entertained throughout the day as the community came together. Overall on the 2p challenge alone, over £3,000 was raised.
Stuart said: “I always really enjoy how our community comes together for Children in Need. It is such an important day for us all to do what we can to help children that are disadvantaged all over the country and an appeal that resonates with us all across Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough. I was delighted to learn that over £3,000 worth of spare change was raised even during these hard times financially, and I am very grateful to all of my constituents who took the time to lend their support and change to the cause.”
