Pleased to be back home for a weekend of surgeries and appointments after another week in Westminster.
In Westminster this week, policy enquiries arriving have been on the conflict in the Middle East, the Government’s plans to curb migration and with it the increase to the Minimum Income Requirement for Family Visas. I have raised this with the Home Office, and I have pressed for concessions to be made for those who have pre-existing commitments and relationships.
In the patch this week, a busy weekend of surgeries is on the agenda. I attend Pudsey Market today and I will be in Morrisons in both Guiseley and Horsforth tomorrow if you wish to come and speak to me - no appointment is neccesary.
Casework arriving in the Constituency Office this week has been on subjects such as issues with public transport, leisure facilities, education settings, energy bills, Royal Mail, parking, age verification and housing to name but a few.
This week has also been the last full week in Westminster and therefore my last Week in Westminster post of 2023, as the Christmas Recess begins on Wednesday.
A final reminder that both my Constituency Office and Westminster Office will be closing from Saturday 23rd December and reopening on Wednesday 3rd January to allow my team to have a well-deserved break. If you need urgent assistance during this time, senior members of the team and I will be available via email as always on stuart.andrew.mp@parliament.uk
I do hope all of my constituents have a restful break over the festive period, and my team and I would like to wish a very Happy Christmas and New Year to all those who are celebrating.
