Finished the February recess with a visit with Punch Pubs to discuss what more can be done to help our local pubs, then back to the House of Commons on Monday.
It has been another busy week in Westminster, where I was pleased to chair a roundtable with various youth organisations to hear from a wide range of people involved in the sector.
Policy queries have been arriving in my Westminster office on a broad range of subjects this week, including on upcoming changes to the Energy Price Guarantee and leasehold reforms. These are both issues I have taken forward to Government Minister’s.
I have spoken with West Yorkshire Combined Authority about the suspension of the 966 Guiseley to Yeadon Circular. I understand this suspension was due to the current contract expiring, and there being no bids to run the service. I am informed that the Combined Authority will be reviewing options on this, and I will be raising this as part of my ongoing discussions with the Department for Transport about bus services in the constituency and the broader West Yorkshire area.
Other casework arriving in the constituency office this week has included issues relating to social housing, visas and benefits.
As ever, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if there is anything I can do for you
