After another busy week in Westminster, I am now back in the rather picturesque constituency for a busy weekend.
In Westminster this week I have been responding to the steady number of policy and campaign enquiries as always.
I was also pleased to get the opportunity to raise my constituents’ economic concerns with the Chancellor this week ahead of the upcoming Spring Budget.
In the patch, I have contacted First Bus and West Yorkshire Metro to raise my concerns about the withdrawal and reduction of bus services across the constituency and to request that these decisions are reviewed. I understand the significant impact this will have on many of my constituents who rely on the affected services, and I am disappointed that it comes at a time when significant Government funding is being provided to improve bus services across West Yorkshire.
Casework arriving in the office this week remains at its usual high level, with issues relating to the adverse weather, traffic, public transport, housing, planning, benefits, education, and anti-social behaviour all being raised with me for my assistance this week.
Looking ahead to next week, my monthly open surgeries are due to be held on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th March.
Please bear in mind the following:
Pudsey Market, Friday 17th March @ 10:30am – I am unfortunately unable to attend this surgery, but a representative for my office will be in attendance alongside local Councillors for those constituents that wish to raise issues with me.
Alternatively, I am available the following day as both my Morrisons surgeries are going ahead as normal:
Horsforth Morrisons, Saturday 18th March @ 10:00am
Guiseley Morrisons, Saturday 18th March @ 11:30am
I look forward to seeing my constituents next weekend at both surgeries.
Please do nonetheless get in touch if there is anything I can do to be of assistance or if you have any issues you wish to raise with me.
