Leeds is currently under a COVID Alert Level of HIGH.
I’d encourage all of my constituents to review the poster and the guidance below to understand fully what this means:
- Local COVID alert level: high

The key difference from the previous local restrictions is that residents will not be able to socialise with anybody outside of their household or support bubble in any indoor setting. This will now include public places.
It is very disappointing news that we find ourselves in this position however having been in briefings with our local authority and hospital trust, I appreciate the very real concerns about the number of people admitted to hospital with the virus doubling in the space of just one week.
I know this is frustrating for my constituents, but I hope we can all work together and play our part to reduce the R rate to below one as quickly as possible, so that these restrictions can be eased.
